Video App

The Video App allows you to add rich motion content to your playlists. Yugna automatically processes your videos in the cloud to ensure they play smoothly on any supported hardware.

Works Offline

Requires Active Internet: No

Videos are intelligently cached locally to your player’s internal storage. Once downloaded, they will loop flawlessly with zero buffering, even if the screen loses internet connectivity.

Configuration Options

When you add the Video app to your playlist timeline and click on it, you will see the configuration dialog.

1. Select a Video Click the Browse Library button in the preview window. This opens your Media Library, where you can select an existing video file or upload a new one. (Note: The duration of this scene in your playlist is automatically determined by the total runtime of the video file itself).

2. Video Fit Just like images, videos might not perfectly match your screen’s aspect ratio. You must choose how the video scales:

   • Fit and Center Video: The entire video will be scaled down until it fits completely inside the screen, maintaining its original aspect ratio. This may result in black bars (letterboxing) if the shape doesn’t match the TV.
   • Scale Video to Fill Frame: The video will expand until it completely covers the screen. Warning: If the video is a different shape than the TV, some edges of the video will be cropped out of view.

3. Background Color If you choose “Fit and Center” and your video leaves empty space on the screen, you can use the Background Color picker to choose exactly what color fills those empty letterbox bars. This helps blend the video seamlessly into your brand identity instead of defaulting to black.
